Fulham have completed the signing of Swiss international full back Kevin Mbabu from Wolfsburg this morning, for a fee that could rise to around £6m.

The 27 year-old former Newcastle United right back has signed an initial three-year contract at Craven Cottage – with the newly-promoted Premier League side retaining an option to trigger a twelve month extension of that deal. Mbabu returns to English football after a lengthy summer of negotiations between the Whites and Wolfsburg, for whom he made 82 appearances and helped qualify for the Champions’ League when they finished fourth in the Bundesliga in 2021.

Mbabu, who won the back-to-back Swiss domestic doubles with Young Boys between 2017 and 2019, told FFCTV that was delighted to become the club’s fourth summer signing.

“I’m happy to be here as a Fulham Football Club player. It’s a relief and now I can focus on my goals and the club’s goals, and help the team to be successful. The first step is to stay in the Premier League, stay stable in the league, and then why not aim for the top ten?”
