Having reportedly seen off interest from Nice in their pursuit of Manor Solomon, Fulham are battling the Ligue 1 outfit again in the race to sign Wolfsburg full back Kevin Mbabu.

RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi claims this morning that the Whites are ahead in the battle to secure the services of the former Newcastle United defender, who is eager to return to the Premier League. Fulham have had two bids rejected by the Bundesliga outfit for the Swiss international, but the Cottagers are understood to be confident that they can soon agree a fee for the 27 year-old.

Nice are hoping to convince Mbabu, who has previously been on loan at Rangers, to move to France instead but it is Fulham who are currently involved in ‘concrete negotiations’ for the attacking right back, according to Tanzi. The RMC Sport correspondent also suggests that the Premier League new boys have other French-based targets in mind at right back should they fail to secure Mbabu, with Marco Silva known to be keen on a reunion with free agent Dijbril Sidibe, who he coached at Everton. The Whites have also been linked with a move for Lyon skipper Leo Dubois.
