Fulham have agreed an initial fee of around £4.8m with Wolfsburg for their Swiss international right back Kevin Mbabu, according to various reports.
The Whites, who had two previous offers rebuffed for the 27 year-old defender, moved to close the deal after failing to match Lyon’s valuation for Leo Dubois. Mbabu, who is eager to return to England having previously played for Newcastle, will now fly to London to discuss personal terms with the Premier League new boys.
Mbabu, who has won 22 caps at senior level for Switzerland, made 82 appearances for Wolfsburg, scoring three goals, since moving to Germany from Young Boys in July 2019. The attacking right back was part of a Young Boys side that won back-to-back Swiss titles, initially ending a drought stretching back more than three decades. He made 31 appearances with Wolfsburg last term – including six Champions’ League games – scoring a single goal.

That’s a new spine of the team, and all them experienced! Add Mitro, Wilson, Tosin, and a good coach as Silva, and you can start to believe that it can be a good year.
Fingers crossed FFC fans!
I’m liking all the above let’s hope they all come off. Marco seems to have done his homework.

Let’s not get too carried away we have only signed one player so far Notts Forest have signed 6 .
As usual the khan’s won’t pay the going price that’s why we miss out on our first pics.
Only one signed so far. The other possibilities look good addition. Personally I am very disappointed the club did not go all out to sign Neco Williams. If all the above come off another central defender and back up for Mitro required
Neco,s price was far too expensive, no proper history in top tier. Better value to be had elsewhere.
Signing Mbabu seems good at the price but Kenny Teta to be 1st choice full back all day long
Williams would be a good investment at 6 to 8 million. Still has a bit to learn defensively at the top level.
I think the reason we are taking so long to sign players is because TK won’t pay the asking price and then goes for a cheaper addition who probably won’t be as good. You get what you pay for and the cheaper ones won’t be as good. The Khan’s have priced us supporters out of buying tickets now, I am a 72 year old pensioner and have supported Fulham all my life, so much for being a family club and then bleeding us dry, don’t expect us to turn up if we are back in the championship next season ?
Honestly I think it’s a joke we didn’t sign Nico Williams back he was solid at the back for us last season and as usual the khans won’t pay the negotiating fee
Quite frankly i wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of these deals are being held up by agents who are shopping their players around trying to get the most money. Players would be crazy to jump straight in to signing with a newly promoted side too, there are a lot of reasons why these deals can be getting held up
Financial Fair Play restricts options, eapecially over priced ones like Neco Williams. 17 million?! Too expensive especially for a promoted side. Forest took a gamble, it could backfire, especially if he goes out injured.
Mbabu is waiting for a better club to come in for him so why are we trying to sign him if he doesn’t want to play for us we don’t need him, go for someone who wants to join our club, not someone who will be looking to leave if we go back down again, and as usual we are taking for ever to bring players in TK hasn’t learned from his past mistakes and I don’t think he ever will.
