Fulham forward Kieron Bowie has signed for Northampton Town on a season-long loan.

The Scottish youth international moves to Sixfields after scoring twenty goals in two seasons for the Whites’ category one academy and will get his first taste of senior football south of the border having made 40 first-team appearances for Raith Rovers.

The nineteen year-old, who scored five goals in nineteen appearances as Steve Wigley’s under 23s surged to the PL2 Division 2 title last term, was called up to the Scotland under-21 squad in recognition of his consistent displays in a number of different positions. He was mostly used as a winger by Wigley, but can lead the line himself.

Cobblers’ head coach Jon Brady said: “Kieron is quick, very good technically and a bright and clever player. He has an excellent scoring record for a young striker and our reputation for being a club that improves players helped us win the race for his signature.

He is a good size and he did well with us in Scotland so we already know he will fit in well with the group. We think Kieron will be good for us and we can be good for him and we welcome him to the club.”
