Liverpool have put a £15m asking price on Fulham transfer target Neco Williams, according to reports this afternoon.
The attacking full back enjoyed an enormously successful loan spell at Craven Cottage in the second half of last season, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in fifteen appearances as Marco Silva’s side secured the Championship title. The 21 year-old is desperate for first team football to keep his place in Rob Page’s Wales side that has just qualified for the World Cup – and is believed to be very interested in making his move to London permanent.
Liverpool believe that Williams’ sparky displays for Wales, including at left wing-back in the most recent play-off fixtures, and his consistent excellence in the Championship mean that they can demand a high fee for his services. Fulham are eager to strengthen at right back ahead of their return to the top flight but the Whites could baulk at such a high valuation, with Ryan Fredericks already linked with a move back to SW6 as a free agent.
I think Neco is worth that fee and his valuation will certainly rise so hurry up and get him on a long contract before someone else does.
Could not agree more. Would start ahead of Fredericks (if he comes) and Tete at RB. Plays LB for Wales and would start ahead of Bryan & Robinson too. A “must buy now”!
Worth it. We made the mistake with Targett, and this is the same. Neco could be our starting right back for the next 5 years, and still sell on at a profit.
Well worth it! Young and skilled we need more like him!
Snap him up quick
Agree Andy, let’s hope it happens and others for a full pre-season gelling ready for the fight. This time eh lads?
Please get this transfer done and dusted, he is worth the money so why not pay, before we miss out ag….ain. Our missing out is becoming too familiar, get your finger out TK
I have this terrible feeling of deju vu regarding the rumours and dealings undertaken by Fulham F C since promotion. We were promoted back to The Premiership in early May, which theoretically gave us plenty of time to negotiate new players contracts to assist in our efforts to avoid relegation back to The Championship as in our previous two recent attempts. However, so far we have signed nobody, and most of the players rumoured to be coming to The Cottage have decided to go elsewhere. Marco Silva must be just as frustrated as the rest of the fan base at the apparent total lack of urgency to address these problems. Come on Fulham, sign Williams, sign Pope, sign a decent centre half, sign a defence midfielder and sign another striker to help our record breaker up front. The clock is ticking, and let’s hope it isn’t to another relegation.
No brainner buy him he’s worth it stop this waiting around his proved himself talented and 21 what’s to think about
