Marco Silva’s Premier League retooling is yet to make its first purchase but we understand that William Carvalho is set to be targeted for the second time since the Portuguese Head Coach has been at Craven Cottage.

Silva worked with Betis’ defensive midfield during his year in Sporting where together they won the Portuguese Cup, reached 3rd in the league and the Round of 32 in the UEFA Europa League.

You may remember last summer Fulham were heavily looking at bringing in the Portuguese international on loan with an option to make permanent following promotion. Carvalho rejected the opportunity to play in the Championship and instead helped Betis win the Copa Del Rey and finish 5th in La Liga.

William Carvalho, 30, would represent somewhat of a coup for Fulham who would be looking at €8m to €10m (or roughly £7m to £8.5m) to reunite the enforcer with Marco Silva.
