Ivorian midfielder Jean Michael Seri will leave Fulham on a free transfer this summer after the club decided against extending his current contract for a further year.

The 30 year-old is the most regularly used first-team player to feature on the Championship champions’ released list, which has been announced this afternoon. Seri, widely derided as a flop after a desperately disappointing first Premier League campaign following his big money move from Nice in 2018, looked poised for another loan move abroad last summer until Marco Silva replaced Scott Parker at Craven Cottage.

Seri slotted into Silva’s midfield as a surprise selection in the 5-1 win at Huddersfield in August and was a consistent starter throughout the season, making 34 appearances and scoring his only goal in the 7-0 thrashing of Luton that clinched the title. He was not formally offered a new deal after indicative discussions with Silva and the club’s recruitment team as the Whites are looking to upgrade in central midfield as they prepare for another tilt at the top flight.

Fulham have also released centre backs Michael Hector and Alfie Mawson as well as reserve goalkeeper Fabri and right back Cyrus Christie, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Swansea. Youth players Jacob Adams, Eric Ameyaw and Timmy Abraham are also set to leave SW6 this summer.
