Fulham are one of a number of sides linked with a summer swoop for Derby winger Malcolm Ebiowei, according to a report from the Sun this afternoon.
The eighteen year-old is likely to leave Pride Park following Derby’s relegation from the Championship and – being out of contract in the summer – can make the move for a nominal fee. The former England youth international, who put together a storming display as Derby surprised Marco Silva’s side last month, scored the opening goal in the Rams’ victory at Blackpool last week.
Ebiowei has been tracked by the likes of Red Bull Leipzig, Crystal Palace, Tottenham and Leeds as he became one of a number of young players blooded by Wayne Rooney in response to the financial crisis engulfing County. The former Arsenal youth player is of interest to the Whites, who have begun their planning for a return to the Premier League.
That’s all very well but….we have a wealth of talent in our under 23 squad that haven’t been given the opportunity to show themselves. He has because he’s been given the chance. We have to blood our youngsters but now we’re in the premier league can we afford to. Missed opportunities this year.
Exactly Gary and Sonny Hilton would be a start in the right direction …are you reading this Marco?
We need to have a clear out and get rid of all the dead wood as was proved by today’s result against Sheffield United. We don’t have strength in depth apposed to what people may think, outside of our first eleven we we are nowhere near good enough for the premiership, I felt sorry for our travelling fans having to watch that game.
