Fulham defender Tim Ream was delighted that the Whites completed the west London double over Queens Park Rangers with a 2-0 win at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium this afternoon.

The veteran American defender produced an assured display at the heart of the Fulham back four, spraying several glorious passes from centre back, and nullifying QPR’s attempts to pose problems in the final third. Ream told FFCTV after the final whistle:

“It’s nice looking back on it. 2-0, clean sheet, three points, west London derby and doing the double this season is nice. It’s been a rather nice day other than the change in the weather right around half time. The boys in there are buzzing and looking to go and three points on Wednesday.

It was intense, especially the first half where it was a little bit back and forth. I thought we had the better of the chances, they had a few half chances from range but overall the way we kept the ball, especially in the second half and figured out where the spaces where to create chances was something that we’ve been messing probably in the previous couple of games. To have that and to come with a 2-0 victory is always nice.

“We know that there’s never going to be a game that you’re going to dominate for ninety minutes. We talk about being focused throughout. We did a fairly decent job all afternoon of nullifying their counter attacks – that was a point of emphasis for us – and I thought we did that really, really well. It was a physical battle for sure in the first half and quality told in the second half.”

Doing the double over them in the season and seeing the sold out away end – it all adds to the atmosphere and what we’re doing. It’s not just us, the players, the staff, the people that work here. This is for them. The fans, the ones who are there every week and the ones that are travelling up and down the country with us.
