Reports from the Netherlands claim that Mexican international midfielder Erick Gutierrez is poised to leave PSV Eindhoven this summer as incoming manager Ruud van Nistelrooy prepares to reshape his squad.

The 26 year-old holding midfielder scored the opening goal as PSV beat Ajax in the Dutch Cup final earlier this month, but Gutierrez has only started sixteen league games this season. Although he has a year remaining on his current contract at the Philips Stadion, the former Pachuca midfielder will be allowed to leave this summer with current coach Roger Schmidt keen to take him to Benfica, where he is due to start work in July.

Fulham are interested in offering Gutierrez, who has won 29 senior caps for his country, the possibility of Premier League football and the midfielder is apparently intrigued by the prospect of playing in England. Gutierrez has made 93 appearances in four years with PSV, scoring six goals and nine assists, having won the Mexican title with Pachuca after emerging through their academy set-up.
