Fulham are ‘confident’ of keeping defender Tosin Adarabioyo at the club after securing an immediate return to the Premier League, according to the Evening Standard.

A number of top flight clubs, including Newcastle, have marvelled at the former Manchester City centre back’s composed performances alongside Tim Ream at the heart of the Fulham defence as Marco Silva’s side stormed to the top of the Championship table. The 24 year-old has made 39 league appearances for the Whites this season – scoring two goals – and the interest of several Premier League sides makes it all the more mystifying that nobody activated the £10m release clause in Adarabioyo’s contract after Fulham’s relegation last summer.

Adarabioyo, named in the Championship team of the year at the EFL awards, is thought to be keen on helping Fulham prove the doubters wrong by establishing themselves in English football’s tier. He was delighted to play regular first-team football at Craven Cottage after struggling to make an impact at Manchester City despite being highly rated by the club’s academy set-up.
