Marco Silva knows his Fulham side will face a fierce test at Barnsley this weekend, with the Tykes scrapping for their lives at the foot of the table.

Barnsley have lost just two of their last six matches and were unfortunate to conceded a late equaliser against Stoke City on Tuesday night. Silva told FFC this morning that the league leaders will not be taking Poya Asbaghi’s side for granted:

“Their last few results show that they are fighting. They got some good results against good sides this year. They are believing, they are fighting, they want to remain in this competition. We want to remain at the top of the league as well. It is another tough match. They will not surprise us. If they will do something good, it will be because they have real quality. We must respect all our opponents, it doesn’t matter what position they are in the table.

They are different [under Asbaghi]. They try in certain moments to start to play more from the back. It is not easy to play in the way you want when you are in this position in the table. The main thing is get to points. The signings in January gave them more individual quality as well – Domingos Quina is one of those players that gave them extra quality, a player that can score important goals and can assist as well. They are achieving different results in different games and it will be tough for us. We have to go there and play at our best level to get three points.”
