Fulham are ready to make an offer for Shandong Taishan defensive midfielder Son Jun-ho, according to reports from China.
The Championship leaders have been scouting the 29 year-old extensively this season and representatives from the London club will be watching the South Korean international in the final round of World Cup qualifiers against Iran and the United Arab Emirates later this month.
Son had played in his native South Korea for the whole of his professional career until moving to the Chinese Super League last January. He won three consecutive Korean league titles with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors before winning the domestic double in his first season with Shandong Taishan. He has scored four goals and added four assists for the Chinese outfit in 27 games and is known for his energetic performances that see top the league statistics for the amount of ground covered during a game.
Southampton have previously been linked with interest in the holding midfielder, but is understood that Fulham are now in the driving seat having held discussions both with Shandong Taishan and the player’s representatives. Son, who has won thirteen senior international caps for South Korea, is under contract until December 2023 with Shandong.
