Another weekend, another pair of assists for Marlon Fossey. The American defender, so unfortunate with injuries during his time with Fulham, is flourishing with regular game time in senior football at Bolton Wanderers on loan and has become one of Bolton boss Ian Evatt’s key players after a string of superb displays at right wing-back.

The 23 year-old is a firm favourite with the Bolton fans and he produced an outstanding performance at Priestfield yesterday – a ground where any sort of Fulham success is always poignant. It is no exaggeration to say that Fossey was one of the main reasons why Wanderers’ recorded their ninth league victory in twelve games to give their League One play-off hopes a serious boost.

He cleverly cut the ball back for Aaron Morley’s absolute screamer that broke the deadlock just after the half hour mark and then laid on Bolton’s third for Jon Dadi Bodvarsson with four minutes later. Fossey went close with a shot of his own, which capped another brilliant performance as he also kept the door firmly shut on Gillingham’s left flank.
