AC Milan are planning to take advantage of Liverpool’s failure to sign Fabio Carvalho on transfer deadline day by swooping for the Fulham midfielder in the summer, according to reports from Italy.

The Italian giants are hoping to capitalise on the collapse of Liverpool’s move for the talented teenager and believe they will be able to capture Carvalho by offering him first team football in Serie A. Calciomercato reports that Milan officials have made contact with Carvalho’s representatives and family to register their interest in the nineteen year-old.

Carvalho is out of contract in the summer and Fulham risk losing their precious academy graduate for a nominal development fee should he elect to move to Europe – as striker Mousa Dembele did in 2015. The Lisbon-born midfielder scored his eighth goal of the season in yesterday’s FA Cup defeat at the hands of Premier League leaders Manchester City.
