On-loan Fulham winger Sylvester Jasper made his first start for Hibernian this afternoon as the Scottish Premiership side came from behind to see off a potential Scottish Cup shock at Arbroath.

Jasper, who had made two substitutes appearances in the league since heading to Easter Road on transfer deadline day, lasted 60 minutes before being replaced as Shaun Maloney’s side responded well to going behind at the Championship leaders. Demetri Mitchell cancelled out Craig Wighton’s opener before second half strikes from Kevin Nisbet and Chris Mueller sealed a spot in the quarter finals.

The victory at Gayfield Road was Hibernian’s first win in five matches.
