Kenny Tete could be out for a while after injuring his groin during Fulham’s 3-2 win at Stoke City yesterday.
The Dutch defender was forced off following a collision with goalkeeper Jack Bonham when he came close to scoring early in the second half. Tete was replaced by Denis Odoi and Fulham head coach Marco Silva told his post-match press conference at the Bet 365 Stadium:
“Let’s see how long it will be, at the moment it doesn’t look an easy thing.”
Silva had previously ruled out bringing in a right back during this transfer window but Fulham could revisit moves for the likes of Reggie Cannon, who almost joined the Whites in the summer, or Jonjoe Kenny before the end of January.
It would unacceptable to sign anyone with the name “Jonjoe”.
Interesting dilemma at right back for Silva. Odoi has done really well when he has filled in, but he’s not as adventurous as Tete and it was noticeable that the Stoke substitute ran him ragged at the end. I’d love to see Stevie Sessegnon get a go, but I fear that ship has probably sailed now
