Fulham full back Steven Sessegnon has joined Plymouth Argyle on loan until the end of the season.

The England under-21 international has not featured under Marco Silva this term and has had to settle for under 23s football with Denis Odoi having deputised for Kenny Tete in the first team. Sessegnon, whose loan spell at Bristol City last season was cut short by injury, was eager to play regular senior football and should provide a significant boost to Argyle’s bid to reach the League One play-offs.

Sessegnon, who has made nineteen senior appearances for Fulham, told Plymouth’s website this evening:

“I am very happy to be here and once I got the phone call, my mind was set. I knew that this side wants to get promoted, that was a big thing for me wanting to come here and win some games. I just want to play in a good side that wins week in week out and it’s clear this side wants to win. It was an easy choice for me to come here.”
