Domingos Quina has returned to Watford tonight after his loan spell with Fulham was terminated.

The Portuguese playmaker, brought in from Watford in the closing hours of the summer transfer window, had struggled to make an impact at Craven Cottage and made just four appearances for the first team. Marco Silva had criticised the 21 year old’s work rate and he failed to complete ninety minutes in a Fulham shirt.

Quina, considered a promising prospect at Vicarage Road, was quickly usurped by club captain Tom Cairney and teenager Fabio Carvalho when the pair returned to full fitness and was deemed surplus to requirements by Silva. Watford were eager for their youngster to gain regular first-team football and he is rumoured to be close to joining the Championship’s bottom club Barnsley on loan until the end of the season.
