Former Fulham midfielder Kevin McDonald is poised to resume his playing career at Dundee United, according to reports from Scotland this afternoon.
The Courier says that the former Scotland international, released by Fulham in the summer, had impressed during his recent spell training with Dundee United and is close to concluding a short-term deal to join United. The Tangerines have been eager to bolster their midfield options and McDonald’s potential arrival sets up an intriguing United debut against his first club Dundee in Tuesday’s derby.
McDonald, who was contemplating retirement before a successful kidney transplant earlier this year, made 128 appearances in five years at Craven Cottage – twice winning promotion to the Premier League with Fulham.
