Fulham midfielder Sonny Hilton is on the shortlist for the PL2 player of the month award after an outstanding December.

The Liverpudlian playmaker scored twice and added three assists as Steve Wigley’s side consolidated their position at the top of the Second Division and remained on course to progress through the group stages of the Premier League Cup game. Hilton’s equaliser against Wolves sparked a strong comeback to preserve Fulham’s unbeaten home record and he put Fulham in front against our nearest challengers West Brom at the end of the month as well.

Hilton, who is thriving back in the under-23 set up after a successful loan spell in Finland, is nominated alongside West Brom’s Reyes Cleary, Thomas Dickson-Peters of Norwich, the Leeds striker Joe Gelhardt and Everton’s Reece Walsh.
