Fulham have failed in a bid to bring Roma holding midfielder Amadou Diawara to London, according to reports from Italy tonight.
The Guinea international is widely expected to leave the Italian giants before the end of the January transfer window and has interest from a number of other Serie A sides as well as abroad. Caligari and Torino have been linked with moves for the former Napoli midfielder, but Valencia and Galatasaray have submitted firm offers. It is thought that the 24 year-old is not interested in playing second tier football.
Fulham boss Marco Silva had been keen on adding a defensive midfielder to his squad earlier in the window and the Championship leaders were heavily linked with Okay Yokuslu, who spent time with West Brom on loan last season.
Why are we constantly looking for midfielders when it’s central defenders we really need?
I concur especially with injury prone Tete out .Another full back this season then a soli pacey central defender next season Robinson at left back is still a question mark but as it stands not being good enough
There’s no denying we are the class of the Championship….but…..the Prem is a different game. I don’t believe Parker helped with our current squad but we will need a minimum of 4 or 5 additions for sure. Let’s not make the same mistake of thinking we can deal with this after half a dozen games. If we can it would be great to get some in now. That’s what Wolves did in January the season they went up. If we could get a couple now that would virtually guarantee us promotion. Must be a few around as we’re pretty certain to give them Prem football if they join
Unfortunately, from what I am given to understand permanent acquisitions will be dependent on player sales as we are right on the limit for FFP at present
