Fulham midfielder Jean Michael Seri has been named in the Ivory Coast squad for the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.

Seri, who has been a revelation since being reintroduced to the Fulham squad by new coach Marco Silva this summer, has won 34 caps for his country and has become a regular under national coach Patrice Beaumelle of late. The former Nice midfielder has made 22 appearances for the Whites in the Championship this season – providing six assists.

The Elephants, who won the tournament in 2015, have been drawn in Group E alongside Algeria, Sierra Leone and Equatorial Guinea. The Ivory Coast’s campaign gets underway on January 12. If they go all the way to the final on February 6, Seri could miss as many as four of Fulham’s Championship fixtures.
