Crystal Palace and Leicester City are interested in signing Fulham’s teenage striker Jay Stansfield, according to a report in this morning’s Daily Telegraph.
The former Exeter City forward is understood to be happy at Fulham and the Championship club that they can see off sustained interest from Premier League clubs. Stansfield scored a stunning first senior goal at Birmingham in the League Cup earlier this season and has been in terrific form for Steve Wigley’s under 23 side.
Palace, Leicester and a number of other leading English sides are attracted by the prospect of pinching Stansfield, an England under 20 international, in January. The young forward had knee surgery last month and hopes to return to training at Motspur Park before Christmas. Fulham are eager to avoid losing another promising prospect for peanuts, especially with playmaker Fabio Carvalho yet to sign a new deal.
We need to send him out on loan, cannot lose him on a free. So much talent just wasted.
We need to tie him to a new contract we can’t let him leave for a small fee this is happening to often
We are a soft touch when selling up and coming talent players like jay is our up and coming future look at previous disaster of selling our talented young players
