Harry Wilson made two goals as Wales inched closer towards World Cup qualification with an impressive demolition of Belarus in Cardiff this evening.

Wales made a dream start with Aaron Ramsey firing them ahead in only the second minute and Neco Williams doubling the advantage shortly afterwards. Ramsey added a third from the penalty spot after half time before Wilson, who had an outstanding game, came to the fore. The Fulham winger whipped in a corner to provide Ben Davies with his first Welsh goal and then saw Connor Roberts touch home his free-kick to make it 5-1. It was the first time that Wales have scored five goals in a World Cup qualifying fixture since they beat San Marino 6-0 back in August 1996.

Robert Page’s side face runaway group leaders Belgium on Tuesday night but are all but certain of a play-off place courtesy of their Nations League performance earlier in the year.
