Peterborough United have placed a £4m price tag on forward Siriki Dembele as they try to avoid a January sale, according to reports this morning.
The 25 year-old appears destined to leave the Championship club in the summer after refusing to sign a new contract. Dembele has a been longstanding Fulham target, with the Whites watching him extensively last season, and he starred in Posh’s narrow defeat by Marco Silva’s side earlier this month.
Dembele, who has scored four goals and added two assists in sixteen league appearances has also been heavily linked with the Old Firm. His brother Karamoko is currently on Celtic’s books and Rangers have been reportedly monitoring his progress. Darren Ferguson is desperate to keep hold of Dembele to boost Peterborough’s battle against relegation, but a significant offer in the new year could force Posh’s hand.
A good player but not a priority I would like us to bring in another central defender someone like Andersen would be good.
Exactly what John B said. CB has been a priority for a while now but hasn’t materialised for whatever reason. The excellent recent record of our defence cannot allow complacency on this front. Dembele would be an excellent addition but a luxury considering how well Wilson is playing.
So you want Fulham to sign a player that cost £24 million who fell out of favour on over £50,000 a week to play in the championship. Who eventually when he returned back to Lyon they sold him for £24 million to Crystal Palace, try and lower your expectations maybe sell Calvalho to West Ham and get Oxford as part of the deal or something along thyose lines.
What John B is asking for is ludicris and just dreaming.
Rob Oxford hasn’t played for West Ham for years ?
Why would Fulham want Dembele he’s no better than what we already have. And how many central defenders do we need, we have plenty although arguably the best ones are not starting. And Rob if you’re going to accuse people of dreaming you really need to get your facts right as Reece Oxford left West Ham years ago and now plays in the Bundesliga.
