Sylvester Jasper made his international debut for Bulgaria’s under 21 side in a 3-1 defeat by the Netherlands last night.

The Fulham winger, currently on loan at Colchester, played 68 minutes in attack as the Bulgarians were beaten in their latest European Championship qualifier despite taking the lead midway through the first half in Almere. Jasper qualifiers for Bulgaria through his mother and will hope to make another appearance for his new side when they face Moldova on Tuesday evening.

Jasper, who has made fifteen league and Cup appearances during his loan spell with Colchester, scored his first senior goal when he netted a late winner against Harrogate after coming off the bench. The 20 year-old also scored a stunning individual goal as Colchester reached the second round of the FA Cup by beating AFC Sudbury last week.
