Tom Cairney has resumed full training with Fulham, according to pictures from Motspur Park this afternoon.

The Fulham skipper has not featured for the first team since a 1-1 draw with Newcastle last December and had only previously completed a single training session since Marco Silva took over at Craven Cottage before being laid low by persistent knee trouble.

The 30 year-old Scottish international, who led Fulham to two Championship play-off triumphs, had been following his own individual training programme as he bids to make a comeback from his prolonged injury absence but has now joined in sessions with the rest of the senior squad who are not on international duty. Silva has been cautious about putting a timeframe on Cairney’s potential return to first team action – with the playmaker likely to feature for the club’s under 23 side first as he builds up his match sharpness.
