Marco Silva says he will rotate his Fulham side for tomorrow night’s trip to Birmingham City in the League Cup.

The Whites currently top the Championship after an unbeaten start to the new campaign and, with a stern test against fellow pacesetters Stoke City to come at Craven Cottage, Silva told Fulham FCTV that the Cup tie at St. Andrew’s presents an opportunity for some of his fringe players to shine:

“Definitely. It was in my plans already. We have good competition [in the squad]. Unfortunately, we don’t have all the squad ready now, if we did have then definitely we would change almost everything. We don’t have this in this moment right now. We will do some changes because the players are playing well. The players who are on the bench are hungry to play football. Some are working really hard to get this chance and, again, they need to play.

“I want to see them playing. The Birmingham game will be important for us. We have respect for the competition as well, but this is a moment for some of the other players to show their quality. Our aim is to go there, to match them, to compete and to try and win the football match.”
