Flamengo forward Rodrigo Muniz will ‘land in London on Tuesday’ and complete the formalities of his impending transfer to Fulham, according to Brazilian journalist Vene Casagrande.

The 20 year-old striker, whose positive test for coronavirus provided another complicated to a protracted transfer saga, has been completing a period of quarantine in Spain to speed up his introduction to his new Fulham team-mates and is due to arrive in London next week. Fulham finally agreed a deal worth around £6.8m – to be paid in two separate instalments – with Flamengo earlier this month.

Muniz, who reportedly turned down a more lucrative offer from Middlesbrough in order to work with Marco Silva at Fulham, has scored ten goals in 32 appearances since breaking into the Flamengo side last year. He helped his club win the Brazilian title in his first season with the senior squad.
