Fulham defender Maxime Le Marchand has joined Strasbourg on a permanent basis, the club have confirmed this evening.

The French centre back, who spent the second half of last season on loan with Royal Antwerp in Belgium, has signed a two-year contract with Strasbourg, who have made defensive reinforcements a priority in the final week of the transfer window as they prop up the Ligue 1 table after a poor start to the season.

Le Marchand, who failed to feature under new boss Marco Silva, leaves Fulham having made 48 appearances in three years at Craven Cottage.
