Fulham have been linked with a late move for Roma full back Davide Santon, according to reports from Italy.

Marco Silva is eager to bring in a new right back before the end of the summer transfer window after first choice Kenny Tete was sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained in the win over Hull City earlier this month. Denis Odoi deputised impressively in the 3-0 triumph over Stoke last weekend, but the Fulham head coach says the Belgian veteran does not fit his ideal profile of an attacking full back.

The Whites have been linked with a succession of possible defensive signings over the course of deadline day and the latest is the former Newcastle United defender Santon, who Roma are willing to let go. The 30 year-old has made 53 senior appearances for Roma but has yet to feature under Jose Mourinho this season. Santon, who can also play at left back, has won eight international caps for Italy.
