Young Fulham midfielder Ben Davis has joined Oxford United on a permanent deal, the club have confirmed this morning.

Davis, who switched his international allegiance to Thailand after being denied a deferral of his Singaporean national service to sign professional terms with Fulham, had a successful Motspur Park trial in 2017 and quickly established himself in the under-18 side. Davis made ten appearances at that level before being fast-tracked into the under-23 team, for whom he played twenty times.

Davis made his senior debut as a substitute in Fulham’s 2019 League Cup defeat by Southampton at Craven Cottage, but struggled to make any further impression on the first-team set up. The 20 year-old has signed a two-contract at Oxford.

Davis told Oxford United’s official website:

“It’s an exciting move for me. I like to think I work hard, can create things and I think this is a chance to push for a place in the senior side at a really good club who play good football.”
