Fulham loanee Timmy Abraham scored the only goal of the game as Newport County knocked Ipswich Town out of the League Cup at Portman Road tonight.

Abraham produced a brilliant backheel to flick Finn Azaz’s cross past Tomas Holy from a quickly taken Kevin Ellison free-kick after just four minutes. The 20 year-old forward made the most of his first start for County, having made his debut as a substitute in the win at Oldham Athletic at the weekend.

Elsewhere, winger Sylvester Jasper played 80 minutes as Colchester United were narrowly beaten by Birmingham City at St. Andrew’s this evening. It was his first start for the League Two side after he also had made his debut for the U’s last weekend.
