New Fulham boss Marco Silva has begun his first day at Motspur Park observing first-team training.
The Portuguese head coach, who was formally appointed to succeed Scott Parker at Craven Cottage last week, has been working remotely until now as he quarantined after travelling from his homeland. The Athletic reported this morning that Silva asked for detailed reports on every member of the club’s academy set-up.
UPDATE: There’s some footage of Silva’s first training session on the club’s website.
Finally!
Here’s hoping he hits the ground running-having done his homework while quarantining.
As usual, we have left things very late with less than 4 weeks to the start of the season.
The squad needs severe pruning and new players brought in so that they have the necessary time to integrate before the big kick off.
Hopefully, we will shortly have an interview with Silva and we can only hope that he gets asked more searching questions than his predecessor was ever asked.
Top of the list should be clarification re the future of players such as Mitro and Frank who, so far, have not featured in any pics from Motspur Park. Then, an update on his plans for recruitment would be nice.
Here’s hoping!
Isn’t Mitro still on honeymoon. Would prefer not to see photos of what he’s up to!
Ridiculously excited by this. Suppose I should know better by now – but the video shows he’ll be expecting things of his attack-minded players. He even has got Knockaert utilising an overlap already …
