Fulham defender Jerome Opoku is poised to join Danish side Vejle on a season-long loan, according to Sky Sports.

The 22 year-old has spent the last two seasons on loan at Accrington Stanley and Plymouth Argyle after impressing as the captain of Fulham’s under-23 side. Opoku, who can play in the centre of defence or at left back, signed a one-year contract extension at Craven Cottage this summer but Fulham are keen for him to continue getting first team football.

If the loan deal goes through quickly enough, Opoku could make his Vejle debut in their Superliga meeting with Brondby on Sunday afternoon.
