Ivan Cavaleiro is focused on helping Fulham make an immediate return to the Premier League.
The Portuguese winger gave a brief interview with Portuguese newspaper Record this morning – and Cavaleiro spoke of his desire to ensure Fulham return to where he believes they belong.
“Clearly our main focus is the promotion. Fulham are a Premier League team and that’s clear. However, the Championship is very competitive and so we, as a team, have to be equally competitive to be able to reach the goal.”
Cavaleiro only scored three goals in 37 appearances last term, despite often being deployed as a centre forward by Scott Parker, and provided no assists. The former Wolves winger is hoping to deliver better in the Championship for Fulham this season:
“At an individual level, the perspective is always the same: to help the team. At the collective level, I hope that we have a good competition and, above all, that we put Fulham back in the Premier League.”
Fulham announced Cavaleiro’s compatriot Marco Silva as Parker’s permanent replacement at Craven Cottage next week and the 27 year-old is looking forward to working under the new manager.
“Marco Silva can expect, from this group and from me, in particular, professionalism and companionship.”
He should be more focused on how to make the net buldge
Fulham may or may not be a premier league team Cav, but, you most definitely are not a premier league player. Please spend preseason learning how to hit the target.
Let’s see how he develops under coach that knows who to break through teams.
Focused on promotion? Who with? Not us, I hope!
Not if you are as focused on relegation as you were last season, mate.
