Fulham defender Maxime Le Marchand is in talks with Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp about a possible loan move, according to reports from across Europe.
The 31 year-old, who can operate in central defence or at left back, has made just four appearances for Fulham this season and had been linked with a possible return to Nice earlier in the window. Le Marchand’s only start in the Premier League came in the narrow defeat by Wolves back in October.
The former Le Harve defender, who has 48 appearances since joining Fulham in the summer of 2018, was also reportedly interesting Bristol City, who have already taken Alfie Mawson and Steven Sessegnon on loan from Craven Cottage this season.
Seems like a nice guy but just another of T.Khan’s woeful recruits. Good luck to him-he has no future at the Cottage.
I would like to ask T.Khan just how he goes about recruiting players. What kind of scouting network do we actually have? Is it all down to Brian Talbot?
Because whichever way we choose to look at it, it just doesn’t work.
How can Brentford get it so right and we get it so wrong?
They consistently recruit from lower divisions and sell on for several times the cost. Somewhere in the region of 50m profit for Benrahma and Watkins.
Ivan Toney has now scored 18 goals and only cost 5m. He will almost certainly go for circa 20m.
Their owner just seems to have something that Tony Khan doesn’t -common sense!
Matthew Benham doesn’t believe in grinding out a result because that means the team, despite winning, have under performed.
He is not happy if his centre forward has scored a hat trick if the team hasn’t played well.
For him, it is all about the team -not individuals. Every time he talks he is worth listening to.
Why have we stopped unearthing lower division gems? They are still there-as witnessed by the three I have already mentioned. Is it because we just don’t have a decent, scouting network here in the UK?
We used to be able to do it. The great Graham Leggat springs to mind, Allan Clarke, Geoff Horsfield.
Whatever the reason, our recruitment policy is sub-par and leaves us not only on the verge of relegation but also in a dire financial mess.
Tony Khan has no football experience and has no idea of the quality of lower league players of potential. He should not be allowed to direct transfers and his woeful record two seasons ago stands testimony to his ineptitude. We desparately need another striker of quality and a creative midfielder. T Khan operates on a shoestring this season and has not let Scott Parker chose the type of player needed to remain in the premiership this season. No more wasted journey men foreign players. We need quality players with English foot league experience and passion.
