Galatasaray have begin discussions with Fulham over a possible loan move for Stefan Johansen, according to reports from Turkey.

The newly-promoted Premier League club have apparently made both Johansen and Scottish midfielder veteran Kevin McDonald available on loan after bringing in Southampton duo Harrison Reed and Mario Lemina on Sunday. The Turkish giants are likely to have to operate in the loan window given their difficult financial position and it looks as though Galatasaray may have switched their attentions from Jean Michael Seri, who was with the Istanbul club on loan last year.

Johansen, who has spent three successful years at Craven Cottage since signing from Celtic for around £2.5m in 2016, made 33 appearances as Scott Parker’s side won promotion via the play-offs last season but was largely used as a substitute when competition resumed following the coronavirus lockdown. The 29 year-old, who has twice won promotion to the top flight with Fulham, was loaned out to West Brom for the second half of the 2018/2019 campaign and will be eager to play regular football as he seeks to keep his place in the Norwegian national side.

The energetic midfielder has made 134 appearances for Fulham, scoring 21 goals, and has another two years to run on his current deal at Craven Cottage.
