Goals from Jean-Pierre Tiehi and Ollie O’Neill secured a comfortable win from Fulham’s under 23s over Crystal Palace at Bisham Abbey last night.

The Whites got off to a flying start when Tiehi, who has been in fine form so far this summer, notched another goal by spinning another from his marker and swept home from close range. Teenage striker Jay Stansfield almost made it two right on the stroke of half-time after cutting in dangerously from the right flank but his rising finish clipped the top of the crossbar.

Tiehi was denied a second twice in quick succession after the break. He had a snapshot bravely blocked as he turned inside his man once again before Jay Rich-Baghuelou thwarted another Fulham break moments later. O’Neill took matters into his own hands to add the crucial second – a peach of a strike from fully 25 yards after being teed up following a cheeky nutmeg from Stansfield – that showcased his outstanding technical ability. Palace rallied but couldn’t find a response, with a trialist drilling their best chance wide from the edge of the box, and Fulham came closest to grabbing a third when Stansfield flashed a volley from O’Neill’s cross just wide of the target.
