Wigan defender Antonee Robinson has travelled to London for a medical ahead of his proposed move to Fulham.
The newly-promoted Premier League side have agreed personal terms with the American international full-back, with various reports placing the size of the 23 year old’s proposed wage package at between £45,000 and £50,000 a week. Fulham’s substantial offer has beaten off competition from Everton, who were keen for their former youngster to return to Goodison Park, and Sheffield United, who had previously been described as front runners for Robinson’s signature.
Robinson saw a dream move to AC Milan collapse because of a heart problem, but the defender return to action with Wigan in June and that is not expected to be an issue in his forthcoming Fulham medical. The attack minded full-back, who is poised to become Scott Parker’s first signing of the summer, will have to displace Joe Bryan, whose brilliant brace against Brentford won promotion at Wembley earlier this month, from the Fulham starting line-up.
Don’t believe the hype – that’s all I’ll say
Hes American – Tony’s American!! Say no more! Old pals act !!!!
The possible reasoning behind this is that Joe Bryan has shown he can play in a more attacking position and score goals. A quicker attack that is exciting and clinical is essential and joe can do that.
Wigan is a team I follow, and Robinson would be a plum pickup for us.
Bryan scoring a couple of important goals was nice, but overall he isn’t much of a threat, and I think would thrive off the bench.
Put Bryan on left wing then cuz Robonson doesn’t seem like an improvement to me
Patrick, how is bryan not a threat? he had 3 goals and 7 assists from left back, that’s one less assist than benrahma and the same as mbeumo, both forwards. Football fans really have no perspective
