Leicester are lining up a move for Fulham left back Joe Bryan as they prepare for life without Ben Chilwell, according to a report from the Sun tonight.
Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers views Fulham’s Wembley promotion-winning hero as a potential replacement for Chilwell, who is rumoured to be close to sealing to Chelsea. The tabloid names Atalanta attacking full back Robin Gosens as Leicester’s number one target – but with the Italian club slapping a £27m price tag on one of their prize assets and a host of suitors across Europe interested in signing the 26-year-old, City have drawn up alternative plans.
Bryan has featured prominently on Leicester’s radar for a while – with Rodgers an admirer of the former Bristol City full-back long before his Wembley brace that sealed Fulham’s promotion back to the Premier League earlier this month. Leicester are keen to see whether Antonee Robinson’s arrival at Craven Cottage could tempt Fulham to part with Bryan, but the Sun suggests that the Londoners would only consider offers of around £15m. Bryan struggled in the top flight during his first season in west London but has firmly established himself as Scott Parker’s first choice left back – making 80 appearances and scoring four goals for the Whites.
Absolutely not and would certainly go against all the rhetoric from our Chairman about breaking up the team from last season.
Agree we need back up for Mitro go hard for Watkins
If fulham get 15 million for Bryan from Leicester then signing Robinson is good buisiness
Best target for Leicester is Todd Cantwell . Great engine and would be a tremendous asset to have he is in the Kanye mould.
True Bryan wasn’t the best in our last premiership campaign but who was?. He’s part of a team now that don’t base everything on attack and he’s not always so exposed. Starting the season with Robinson ( even with the potential he looks to have) would be a mistake. Inexperienced at this level and who knows , he just got relegated he might be carrying that. Even if he started well and the gamble seemed to have payed off, if he got injured who’s stepping in Le Marchand! I think not. Keep Bryan at least for now, see where we are at in January
Don’t want to see him go we need two left backs, but if he wants to go inflate the prise and tell them he can’t go till we find replacement . It what everyone does to us.
