Fulham are the favourites to land in-demand Nottingham Forest full back Matty Cash and hope to strike a deal with the Championship club in the coming days, according to the Telegraph.

The paper says that Scott Parker has made recruiting a right back for their Premier League return one of Fulham’s top priorities this summer and has identified Cash, who starred since being converted to the position by Sabri Lamouchi last season, as his top target. Forest are holding out for an offer of around £15m for the 23 year-old, but Fulham are confident of getting their man by tabling a bid of £10m and a player in exchange. There is no word on the identity of the Fulham man that could be heading to the City Ground.

Cash, voted Forest’s player of the season last year, came through the Nigel Doughty Academy and originally broke into the senior side as a promising winger. He has 141 appearances for Forest, scoring thirteen goals, and has attracted interest from a number of Premier League sides, including Sheffield United, Aston Villa and West Ham, as well as being the subject of serious attention from European clubs during the January transfer window.

Fulham’s need for a right back is patently obviously, with Cyrus Christie and Denis Odoi, who largely shared those duties during the promotion campaign, having struggled the last time the Whites were in the top flight. England youth international Steven Sessegnon looks set to be loaned out to a Championship side, with Bristol City, Swansea City and Reading eager to take him on loan.
