Republic of Ireland midfielder Harry Arter will not be staying at Cardiff City after their relegation from the Premier League this season and he could be set for a move to Fulham.
Independent.ie understands that Arter would be open to sealing a switch to Craven Cottage after his season-long loan move from Bournemouth to Cardiff concludes, with the midfielder expressing his sadness at leaving the Bluebirds after a campaign that saw him re-establish his credentials as Premier League performer.
“I loved every minute of my time at Cardiff,” Arter told us. “The atmosphere in that stadium was just incredible and from the moment I walked into the club, the fans were fantastic to me. It was just such a shame that we couldn’t quite stay up.”
Arter has been commuting to Wales from his London base throughout this season and he is now keen to find a new club closer to the English capital, with Fulham strongly linked with a move to sign the 29-year-old who has played 25 Premier League matches this season.
Confirmation on Friday that Arter’s brother-in-law Scott Paker has been named as Fulham’s permanent manager has strengthened his hopes of a move to Craven Cottage.
