Fulham will be offering Rui Fonte an opportunity to play for a number of European clubs this season as they seek to find the striker regular football after the domestic transfer window closed on Thursday.

The Portuguese forward was an £8m signing last summer, but scored just three goals in 25 Championship games last year. He has been usurped by Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has signed permanently after his successful loan spell at Craven Cottage, and the recent additions of Andre Schurrle and Luciano Viettio have left Fonte well down Slavisa Jokanovic’s pecking order.

Fulham’s valuation of the former Braga striker remains unknown and the 28 year-old was linked with a potential move to Greek giants Olympiacos earlier this week. There have also been rumours of a possible move to France, with Lille reportedly keen to pair the older Fonte with brother Jose, who they signed on a free transfer last week.
