Scunthorpe United have signed Fulham striker Steven Humphrys on a season-long loan deal this afternoon.

The 20 year-old, who arrived at Fulham from Bury as a promising teenager in 2013, was rewarded for some prolific goalscoring form at under-23 level with a senior debut as a substitute against Derby County in December 2016. He also featured from the bench against Brighton and Hove Albion a few weeks later, before being loaned out to Shrewbsury Town for the second half of the season. Humphrys scored twice in fourteen appearances for the Shrews and, having sent out on loan to Rochdale last season, managed two goals in thirteen appearances – with one of them being an equaliser in Dale’s memorable FA Cup replay against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

Humphrys trained with his new Scunthorpe team-mates this morning and could feature in the Iron’s pre-season friendly against Winterton Rangers tomorrow.
