Aston Villa will take on Fulham for the right to play in the Premier League next season after beating Middlesbrough 1-0 on aggregate in their play-off semi-final.

Steve Bruce’s side claimed a 0-0 draw at Villa Park on Tuesday to progress following their 1-0 victory at the Riverside on Saturday.

They will face Fulham – who beat Derby – in the final at Wembley on May 26 as they look to end a two-year Premier League exile.

Mile Jedinak’s header had given Villa the advantage to take into the second leg, and a nervy goalless draw was enough for Steve Bruce’s side to ensure their passage to Wembley.

Jedinak produced a massive performance in the centre of Villa’s midfield. He covered every blade of grass of the Villa Park pitch to his back four, winning headers, tackles and second balls to help his side get over the line.
