Slavisa Jokanovic insisted his Fulham side will not underestimate the threat posed by Millwall at Craven Cottage tomorrow after their action-packed success at Sheffield United in midweek.

The Fulham head coach has challenged his team to improve their poor home record this weekend but knows that Millwall, who have adjusted well to life in the Championship after winning promotion from League One last season, will be keen to upset the odds and record their first away win of the campaign.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference at Motspur Park, Jokanovic told the assembled journalists:

We are not happy with our level at home and this is a new chance to make our supporters and ourselves happier. We must be focused, strong, and push hard to win the game. The spaces we found against Sheffield United, we’re not going to find against Millwall at home. We must play with patience, create space between the lines, attack behind and in wide positions.

We must open our minds and interpret and understand what we find. This will be a different game to Sheffield United and we’ll need a different plan. Millwall compete very well, this is [a] fact, We must be focused, we must concentrate, we must respect this kind of situation. We can be successful, we can lift our performance and we can lift our position in the table.

Everyone in the Championship is a dangerous team for us. We have experience of playing Bolton at home and not winning the game, we have a positive experience of winning on Tuesday night. We must show respect to all teams, and we must show respect to Millwall. We can win the game, but we must push strongly to win these three points.

We recovered our confidence in the last game and I’m sure we’ll be pushing hard to win the game.

The Serbian confirmed that Fulham will be without the services of long-term injury victim Lucas Piazon as well as Floyd Ayite, who came off after an hour at Bramall Lane with a hamstring problem.
