Fulham have signed Portuguese goalkeeper Daniel Clemente from Braga, according to the player’s agent.

The 19 year-old, who has been with Braga since the summer of 2010, has been signed largely as goalkeeping cover for Fulham’s Under 23 squad, following Jesse Joronen’s decision to move on at the end of his contract. Slavisa Jokanovic is still rumoured to be keen to bring in a senior goalkeeper before the start of the season.

Clemente, who has largely been used in Braga’s ‘B’ squad over the past two seasons, was considered a promising youth goalkeeper and earned one cap for Portugal’s Under 16 squad – although his development was hindered by a series of niggling injuries. He has been pictured on social media wearing Fulham training gear having reportedly completed the formalities of signing with the Championship club, but there has been no official announcement yet.
