Marcus Bettinelli is expected to sign a new contract with Fulham in the next few days after Bristol City’s interest in the former England under 21 goalkeeper cooled.

The Bristol Post reports that City boss Lee Johnson has turned his attention to other goalkeeping targets after Fulham made the decision to take Bettinelli on their pre-season tour of Austria. The Fulham academy graduate, who displaced David Button as the club’s number one during the Championship run in last season, is now expected to commit his future to the club before the start of the new campaign.

Bettinelli could then feature in Fulham’s next two friendly matches as the Whites step up their preparations ahead of their league opener against Norwich City on August 5.
